Post Treatment Instructions

Physiotherapy offers a multitude of benefits for individuals dealing with pain, injuries, and various health conditions

  • After getting your braces fitted, following proper aftercare is essential to maintain healthy teeth and ensure your braces work effectively throughout your orthodontic journey.
  • After the procedure, gently check your mouth using your tongue and fingers for any wire ends that may cause irritation or discomfort.
  • Orthodontic wax will be provided to help cover brackets or wires that may rub against the inside of your mouth. Mild soreness in your teeth and mouth is normal for a few days to a week. To ease discomfort, rinse with cold water, use an over-the-counter pain reliever, or apply a numbing gel if needed.
  • For the first few days, stick to soft foods while adjusting to your braces. During the treatment period, avoid hard, sticky, or chewy foods that could loosen or damage brackets. Avoid chewing on hard items such as ice, pens, or pencils, as these can harm your braces.
  • Maintaining good oral hygiene is very important during orthodontic treatment. Brush and floss after every meal, ensuring you clean thoroughly around brackets and wires to remove food particles and prevent plaque buildup or tooth decay.
  • We will recommend suitable toothbrushes and guide you on special cleaning tools that can help improve your oral care routine at home. If you participate in sports or physical activities, consult us about using a mouth guard to protect your braces and teeth from injury.
  • Contact us immediately if you notice severe pain, broken wires, loose brackets, or any damage to your braces during the treatment period.
